Wall Heaters in Melbourne

Wall-mounted heaters for every room — compact, efficient and wired for safe, reliable warmth throughout Melbourne winters.

Wall-Mounted Heater Types

Wall heaters come in several designs to suit different rooms:

  • Fan heaters – blow warm air across the room, quick heat-up, ideal for general living spaces
  • Radiant heaters – emit infrared heat that warms objects and people directly, not just the air
  • Convector heaters – warm air rises naturally, creating gentle room circulation without a fan
  • Combined fan/radiant heaters – offer both fast warm-up and sustained radiant warmth

Bathroom vs General Use

The room determines the heater type:

  • Bathroom heaters – must be IP-rated for splash zones, often combined with exhaust fans and lighting. Must be installed at a safe distance from baths and showers per AS/NZS 3000.
  • General room heaters – wall-mounted in living rooms, bedrooms and offices. No special IP rating required.

Bathroom heaters require careful placement — we assess the room layout and zone requirements before installation.

Fan Heater vs Radiant

Two heating approaches:

  • Fan heaters – move warm air quickly around the room. Best for heating the entire space evenly. Slightly noisy due to the fan motor.
  • Radiant heaters – emit infrared rays that warm your body directly, like sunlight. Silent operation, instant warmth. Best for spot heating — you feel the heat even if the room is still cold.

The best choice depends on whether you want whole-room comfort or direct personal warmth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many watts do I need for my room?
A rough guide: 50W per square metre for a normally insulated room. A 20m² bedroom needs approximately 1000W. Poorly insulated rooms or rooms with large windows may need more.
Can a wall heater be installed in a bathroom?
Yes — but it must be positioned outside the splash zone (Zone 0 and Zone 1) or be IP-rated for those zones. We assess the bathroom layout and position the heater to comply with AS/NZS 3000.
Should wall heaters be on a timer or switch?
Most wall heaters are controlled by a standard wall switch. However, we can wire them to programmable timers for automatic on/off scheduling. Timers are especially popular for bedrooms and offices.
